Distance Business (D-Biz) Programme

Grow Your Business With The D-Biz Fund

What is D-Biz?

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, many businesses got a big hit, especially the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To support enterprises to continue their business and services through the adoption of IT solutions and develop distance business, the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) has launched the Distance Business (D-Biz) Programme under the Anti-Epidemic Fund by Hong Kong government.

Funding Amount

  • The D-Biz Programme is providing 100% funding support to qualified enterprises, subject to a maximum of HK$100,000 per IT solution and a total of HK$300,000 per enterprise.
  • An initial payment of 30% of the approved funding amount will be disbursed after the application has been approved. Upon completion of the project and after the supporting documents are accepted, the remaining funding amount will be disbursed to the enterprise.
  • The approved project has to be completed within six months.

Who can apply for D-Biz?

  • All private enterprises (except publicly listed companies, statutory bodies and non-government organisations (NGOs) funded by the Government), are eligible to apply.
  • A valid Business Registration Certificate with ongoing business commenced before 1 January 2020 is required.
  • Substantive business operation in the industry related to the project in the application at the time of application is a must too.

Application Period

  • Application is open from 18 May 2020 to 31 October 2020.

  • An online system to improve customer service experience and engagement.
  • Example: Round-the-clock ChatBot, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc.

Digital Payment / Mobile Point-of-Sales (POS)

  • Setup of digital payment gateway or mobile Point-of-Sales (POS), including associated hardware/equipment.
  • Example: PayPal, AliPay, WeChat Pay, WeChat mini program ordering system, etc.
